What is "Zero Plast"?
Zero Plast, an organization created by the company Congo-Plast, is an association fighting plastic waste pollution for environmental preservation and sustainable development in the Republic of Congo.
The ultimate goal of our association is to improve the daily lives of the Congolese people by reducing plastic waste pollution, which poses numerous environmental and health problems. Plastic pollution contaminates the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink.
Our mission
Our action is based on social and human values. As a first step, we intend to launch an awareness-raising campaign aimed at households, the sorting and collection of plastic waste, using community relays and relying on NGOs and environmental protection associations, among others, as moral resources for the smooth running of our project;
And secondly we intend to create the "zero plastic" operation. The aim of this operation will be to target public places such as beaches, state markets, schools, hospitals etc. to carry out a collective collection of plastic waste on our grounds. The "zero plastics " operations that we will carry out will aim to make the Congolese population understand that plastic is harmful to our environment, and that this implies that 1kg of plastic collected and recycled produces an average of 1 brick..
The association aims to provide a sustainable response to the problem of urban waste management.

413 million tonnes of plastic were produced in 2017.
Almost a million plastic bottles are sold worldwide every minute.
20% of plastic waste is recycled. 60% is still released into the environment.
The plastics industry alone emitted 6% of the world's CO2 in 2016.
Plastic ingestion has been recorded in 240 animal species.
Over 40% of plastics are used solely for packaging.
